About the Professor

Professor Harrington is a cybersecurity attorney, Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), expert witness, and author experienced in digital forensics, information technology, public policy, legislative drafting, risk management and governance, electronic discovery, legal ethics, and regulatory compliance in the health care, medical device, and financial services sectors.

Harrington has been a council member of the MSBA Computer and Technology Law Section for several years, chairs its legislative subcommittee, and writes for its blog. During his time in banking, he also was the vice-chair of the cyber legislative working group of BITS/FSR (the Financial Services Roundtable) and a member of the FS-ISAC and the cybersecurity working groups of SIFMA and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He is a former board member of the Minnesota chapter of the HTCIA, and is a current member of InfraGard, the advisory board of Century College’s Virtualization, Cloud, and Forensics program, and the 4th District Ethics Committee, serving Hennepin County, Minnesota.
